Whoa, it has been ages since I wrote anything here, I blame facebook...it makes you veeryyy lazy. Let's make this official getting friends up-to-date post. I have:
A new job - I work as a creative planner in a mobile internet company called Starcut - inventing new marketing and service concepts and other fun stuff. I am determined to be idealist and positive and outrageously inspired - even if it makes me look like a bit of a diva :)
A band with new name: Namunaiset became Perjantai, still practises every friday. We also have a gig coming.
A new guild in WoW: I left the US servers behind and now playing with old and new friends on EU's Twilight Hammer server.
New experience: I have been diving a bit into fashion world, which has been educating and fun experience
Anticipating a great spring, interesting creative escapes and aimless discoveries.

I love public transport. But I hate bus transport in Helsinki.
You cannot really justify for somebody to change his/her comfortable car to a bus that presents and ancient technology, bursts out poopload of VOCs and nitrogen and makes horrendous noise. Sometimes they are less so and sometimes you catch an individual bus that runs with gas and is in good shape - and the driver might even be nice to you! But it is a gamble - you never know what you get. Dunno if the city of Helsinki has issued any standards about environmental load or tidyness of the buses, but if they have I fail to see it. Different companies in charge of the routes seem to be able to use as old and worn -out buses they like.
It can be always argued that people should be happy just to have some means of public transport, and it is just elitism to require that public transport should also be pleasant experience, using advanced technology. But you know what? I think that would be the only way to actually save the cities as both good places to live and good places to do business. Otherwise we are trapped with "keeping city alive" with ever increasing car-domination.
... at least a week. Which makes me think: would it be better for my creativity to have internet only available once a day? Somehow having to go after internet to somewhere creates a different rhythm for the day. And the urgent stuff can be easily accessed using mobile internet. Maybe I should voluntarely unplug for few hours every day. But this really screwes up my WoW raids - grr. My beloved druid and priest will be sad and lonely...
Grr, grr and once again grr. Why is it so hard to get decent-looking sustainable fashion in Finland, or actually the whole europe besides maybe UK? I love Stewart Brown, Modify and Etsy to name my favorites. But international shipping is still too much to ask...sigh. Maybe I should start to call around and make some of the goodies available for us price-tag oriented finns...there might be just enough people who understand that a product is much more than what you actually hold in your hand. Products have stories, side-effects and consequences...
Couple of weeks ago our cat Shiro dropped my laptop onto her foot (Don't ask, the usual siamese fumbleness, blood was everywhere! Not elegant at all). Result was nursing a cat with couple of stitches next ten days until the stitches could be taken off. I feel for you people with small children...I felt I should have had eyes on the back of my head to be sure she does not lick her paw...at least cats do not decorate home with crayons...
I am so waiting for this one - went to see the Simpsons movie and could not help to still think about this during the movie after seeing the trailer
Two days in a safari where miraculous. Seeing the wildlife occasionally makes me want to wipe half of the mankind from our planet - call me inhuman bitch but I cannot help it...I feel inferior to an elephant.
I can tell you that touching a dolphin even in a bit tacky conditions is an earthshaking experience. I could not have cared less about couple of hundreds of spectators - I felt more inferior than to that elephant - I think I believe Douglas Adams about dolphins...
From Kwazulu- Natal very "african" feeling to Western Cape almost "northern" ruggedness. I love both, and I loved fighting with my maps in a car beside Kari.
Now I am home again - and there is so much stuff I am waiting for...not gonna do it just by sitting at home so need to make some phone calls to get something to do for living during the autumn....but first I need to read Harry Potter.
Which means from Durban :)
Here again, you can see that my pet little Springbok has had a fun time. She saw world's best rugby (SA-NZ) and was having a nice picnic at Botanic Garders
Springbok originates from Tsitsikamma national park, where I had good time with friends - will cherish the memory forever
The whole Garden Route was as beautiful as ever - on a perfect day a river can look like it is not flowing through this world...
Lots has happened inbetween these two trips and adventure is still just beginning...I am so happy about my leap to unknown
Flying to Cape Town from Durban today. Will have a final party in CPT with friends before travelling home tomorrow. My body tells me not to go, I have a flu...
Week in Durban has again been something incredible. Drakensberg is a magical place and Durban as a city has very nice vibe, liking it a lot. And...people, why in the heck everybody has to be so awesome that I will miss them so much after leaving, not fair. Thank you Carmen, it is really not often when I meet a person as nice as you :).
South Africa feels like home, must...come...back
